To those of you who don’t know about the Inktober Challenge it is where you must try create a series of drawings [one every day] over the month of October in Ink following the prompts given at the start. Mab’s Drawlloween Club is the same process but a different version as you can create art in whatever form for this one and with a different set of prompts each day. Both a great way of artistically challenging yourself to create something new everyday.
For the last few years I have tried to keep up with this challenge and made my own pieces for each, however this year I decided to take on a combined prompts challenge as I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with two pieces each day with my other work on.. And so here is the fourth installment, [come back each Wednesday Morning to see the next week lot of work] if you can’t wait for the next follow my Instagram fwright95 to keep up-to-date with it all!
DAY TWENTY TWO: EXPENSIVE & PUMPKIN
Today I realised I haven’t drawn many human figures within this drawing challenge and so today I created this Pumpkin Princess kitted out in her expensive pumpkin coloured things.. I did create a background with it later on but not sure I liked it so may work further on it
– drawn with blue biro –
DAY TWENTY THREE: MUDDY & MONSTER
Here is my little freehand sketch of a large muddy monster taken form underneath all these great trees that grow from his mud and earth, he fights for the Earth.
– drawn with felt pens –
DAY TWENTY FOUR: CHOP & HUNTERS MOON
Here on the full moon we see a man wielding an axe taking a stroll.. A quick 5 minute freehand ink painting.
– painted with black chinese ink –
DAY TWENTY FIVE: PRICKLY & DARK FOREST
Walking a Dark Forest alone can certainly feel prickly and dangerous, one never knows if you shall make it to your destination alright.
– drawn with sharpie –
DAY TWENTY SIX: STRETCH & TOAD
When I read the prompts I thought the image of a jumping toad was perfect so tried to draw this with an online reference image.. Not sure it is too accurate a depiction of the jumping toad. But at least the grass is luscious!
– drawn with fineliners –
DAY TWENTY SEVEN: THUNDER & SWAMP THING
This is my Swamp Creature with it’s Thundering Cry, 5 minute sketch
– drawn with blue biro –
DAY TWENTY EIGHT: GIFT & RAVEN
This little inky Raven has had a good day hunting for the perfect gift, something that really caught his eye, a large ruby ring. Painted in Chinese ink and colour drawing ink.
