Day Seven – 07.08.18 – Sagres
I know what you’re thinking, dramatic title Frankie! You okay? Well yes, I am, the World is not ending for me I hope anytime soon. This end of the world simply refers to Sagres Point at the edge of Portugal that looks out on what feels like the edge of the world. It is in fact I believe the closest point to the United States from Portugal and makes for a great view point for those in the area wanting to see a beautiful sunset over the sea on a equally beautiful cliff edge.
The Fortress
We had planned on visiting the fortress and look over the history of the area, however we managed to get there just as the place was closing up [so if you are planning on visiting here – make sure to get there before 17:30 on a low season day].
Sunshine Views
However we did make our way through the horrendous wind to the edge of the cliffs and sat down to take a long series of photographs and films throughout the sunset. As it is a very rare opportunity to get the chance to simply sit and watch the sun go down over the sea and I certainly didn’t want to miss it..
And so here are some of the best photos and videos from the evening and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them!
